Last night for family night, we carved pumpkins. Ok, really we carved pumpkin. We decided that we didn't all need to carve a pumpkin this year especially since one of the adults would then have to carve 2 pumpkins because Rex cannot be trusted with a knife. Also we didn't start until bedtime, so we were in a bit of a hurry anyway.
Greg and Rex picked out the perfect pumpkin on Saturday at the Farmers' Market.
Rex studied the pumpkin carefully to know exactly what and where to carve.
Rex and I scooped out the insides. Rex thought it was yikey but did it anyway. We used spoons so we didn't have to actually touch any of it.
Rex supervised while Greg did the actual carving.
Then Rex took a break and showed us some funny faces.
Rex was very impressed by the candle. He thought blowing it out was just about the coolest thing. He here is examining the finished product--it's an "r" with 2 trucks (Rex's new favorite thing).
Very cute pictures. Wish we could be there to see the pumpkins and Rex in person. What is Rex's new favorite thing: the letter "r" or trucks or both?
ReplyDeletei always loved doing this as a kid. Rex seems to enjoy it as well...however trucks aren't very scary.
