7.29.11

It's been a while.

I've been busy.

But I still have nothing to say.

Greg left me a week and a day ago--well not really left me. I mean he did, but not really. He's now in North Carolina working while I am here packing. Well, I was packing until I ran out of boxes so I'm waiting until someone can sit with Rex for an hour or so while he sleeps so I can go get more. But I do have most of the house packed--I just need to finish the kitchen and Rex's room, but I don't want to do those yet because we still need to eat and Rex still needs to play.

I am so sick of my house being a mess/full of boxes. Rex keeps telling me the house is messy and that I should clean it.

Yesterday I made reservations for a moving truck. It arrives August 17th. We'll load it on the 20th. Greg will leave again with my car shortly thereafter. I will stay in Utah for five more days and then...I'll be gone.

Rex pooped on my bed this morning.

I had an appointment with my midwives here today. I will miss them. I really liked most of them--there was one that I didn't like as much but whatever. I am measuring a week behind. They don't care. I could kiss them.

I've been having contractions all day--Braxton Hicks I do believe. I didn't have these with Rex.

I found a doula that I really like. She's even-handed in her opinions and will balance out my over-zealousness, I hope.

I think I found a group of midwives that I like. But then I got an email saying they were terrible. I've decided to go on gut-feeling/the Spirit on this one since I won't have time to switch practices once I get to Charlotte. I'll be 9 months (36 weeks) on the day I arrive in North Carolina and nearly 37 by the time I actually get to Charlotte.

Now I just need to figure out what my new insurance will cover.

I cleaned out the garage last night. I parked my car in it today.

Rex is really into coloring and reading lately. That's all he wants to do. He draws pictures of Daddy with two blue eyes, a nose, a mouth and sometimes hair. When he's done drawing, we read library books over and over again. He likes me to read with him (he's memorized parts of the books so he "reads" those parts) for an hour at a time. Rex has been nearly perfect since Greg left. I'm calling it a tender mercy of the Lord that Rex is into low energy activities that I can easily do with him in my fattened and increasingly immobile state.

I ate five cookies today and have gained 24 pounds so far. Maybe I need to eat fewer cookies. But they literally talk to me.

I am super lonely. But only for Greg. We are not good phone talkers so I only talk to him for like 20 minutes a day. We used to talk for hours when we were dating, but now...I guess we've gotten used to not having to have a sustained conversation and then being able to say one or two things to each other whenever we have something to say.

I read the story of Job the other day to Rex. It made me feel better. Sometimes (ok, let's be honest here, all the time) I think that if I pray about something, I should get it in some form or other, especially if it has to do with more closely living the commandments. Well so did Job and life still sucked for him. I gained some insight into my own life. Even when I pray to more closely live the commandments, life can and will be hard and may get harder and that's just the way it is. It doesn't mean I'm a bad person or that God doesn't love me or isn't listening, it's just the way things are. Let's see how long I can remember this lesson.

I've read the entire Ensign this month. First time ever. Like I said, Greg has been gone for over a week now.

I'm trying to be positive about this move. But I am jealous that we are moving to Greg's home and not mine. Mine is here. Everything that's important to me is here. Except Greg. So I guess I'll move.

7.18.11: Decisions, decisions

Dear Friends and Family,

We have made a decision.

We are moving to North Carolina.

Shocking I know. Just as I was beginning to really feel settled in Provo and make a few friends who weren't going to move away in a few months and had learned all the free stuff to do here and finally figured out CityDeals and Groupon, we're out of here.

We don't really want to move, but we know it's the right thing for us and I'm sure some magic will happen once we get there that will let us know why we need to leave the beautiful and wonderful Provo, but until then, we're going on faith.

Here's how it happened. About a month ago an old co-worker of Greg's (JP) called him and told him about this amazing job in Orem. A job so amazing it would almost double our income. Obviously Greg applied. He even got three interviews and a contract for the company. But then we had to leave for North Carolina for Emma's wedding. Since we were going out anyway, Greg decided to send out a few resumes in Charlotte just for kicks and giggles. He ended up getting an interview while we were in Charlotte. And then a second, on the day of the wedding, with the same company. We joked about moving out to Charlotte, but were convinced that after three interviews and a fourth on the way with the company in Orem, it wouldn't be an issue.

We enjoyed the rest of our trip, as evidenced by previous blog posts and return to Provo. Greg has his fourth interview and called me after telling me he had nailed it. He was getting the job. Sweet. Twice the income. Automatic sprinklers here we come. Later that day, Rex calls Daddy to tell him how he had peepeed in the potty and Greg tells me that he hadn't nailed the interview. In fact, according to JP, he had completely bombed it. We were in shock. One of the reasons the company said Greg didn't get the job was because he wore a suit. Seriously? But Greg still had his job at eFileCabinet and the contract so we had options.

Then the company in North Carolina called. They wanted another interview. And then another.

Thursday I get this text from Greg: Check your email. So I did. AvidXchange in Charlotte had offered Greg the job.

Now we really had a decision to make.

Friday Greg went to his then-current employer and told him about the job offer. He countered.

So we spent the weekend deciding.

We had three options: AvidXchange in Charlotte, eFileCabinet in Lehi, Veracity from home.

We made lists and lists of pros and cons and talked and talked and talked, but in the end none of the options seemed particularly good or bad. AvidXchange was the best job, but we'd have to move. Veracity was the most money but it was only an 8 month contract and Greg would have to work from home, which doesn't work for him. eFile was the most stable, but Greg had reached his limit with the management.

By Saturday night, we had made ourselves sick thinking and talking about it.

This was the hardest decision we/I had ever had to make. Deciding to marry Greg: super easy. I knew from the first or second month we were dating back when we were freshman that I wanted to marry him and prayed every day that God would allow it. Having a baby: easy--a little harder than getting married, but the prophets tell us again and again to have a baby so we did it. Buying a house: easy. The market was down; we lived in a one-bedroom and I was pregnant--why not? All of these other BIG decisions were easy. I mean I prayed about them, but in the end, I made the decision.

But this was different. There was no clear choice. No easy answer.

This brings us to Sunday. We had to give an answer to AvidXchange by Monday. Greg fasted and we both prayed and thought some more. I told Heavenly Father that we had done all the thinking it out in our minds that we could and that we needed some direct and clear revelation--I'm talking angle style.

While I didn't get an angle, I did get a clear understanding of what we should do. All I could think about all day was AvidXchange. When I'd try to think about staying at eFile (my personal favorite option), I couldn't. I literally could think of no other option than AvidXchange.

And so Greg accepted the job today and will leave for Charlotte on Thursday. Rex and I will go out later in August.

Just to testify that we really did make the right choice, things are falling into place very nicely. Emma hadn't really signed a contract for anywhere to live in the fall so she and Travis will live in our house and be the managers of the property. Greg's parents asked their tenets to move out by September 1st, before we even got the job, so we will live there--in their second home until we find one to buy or...we don't really know, maybe we'll be back in Provo next year. My neighbor agreed to take our chickens for us. My adviser from Utah State called today and said that the school has allowed people to finish degrees from super long distances before. Greg called the HR lady at AvidXchange today about my super-pregnant situation and she said that midwives are quite prevalent in Charlotte.

So while I'm not super pleased about this move--I would rather stay in Provo and live in the house I love and be with my family and my friends and just keep to the status quo, I know this is what we need to do. And hopefully the magical reason why we needed to move out there will manifest itself quite soon.

And so we are moving. And very soon. And quite unexpectedly. But it's what we need to do, as lame as an answer as that is.

7.9.11: Saturday

Well friends, you've made it--the last of the vacation posts. We actually left Charlotte on Sunday, but pretty much all we did was fly and we've already done a post on that so we won't rehash flying with a 2-year-old. The only difference about the return trip was that Greg snagged a bump-back for first class seats and $250 voucher on a future flight, so we didn't fly together. How Greg ended up in first class while I (6-months pregnant) flew couch with a 2-year-old I'm not quite sure.

Anyway, back to Saturday. Saturday was the big day. The reception. I sent Greg and his brother off with Rex and the cousins to Lazy 5 Ranch, an exotic animal breeding ranch, so that I could help out at the church with setting up.

Here's what the boys did.

Allen and a zebra. Yes, a zebra's head is in the car.

Rex petting a llama.

Bryant feeding an ostrich through the sun roof.

Greg feeding a giraffe.

Rex feeding an ostrich. He told me later that he didn't like ostriches.

Greg said this took some time but he finally got an ostrich to eat out of his hand.
Rex also got to pet a zebra, which was rad because today he earned a zebra figurine by peeing in the potty. He's in love with zebra's and giraffe's after this little adventure.

I gave Greg strict instructions to be back at the hotel by 3:30 so I would have time to bath and ready Rex and get back to the church 30 minutes away before the family pictures started. Due to some miscommunications, Greg and Allen ended up with one of the bride's maid's dresses in their car, so had to go to the church before returning to the hotel. They then called from the church explaining that the children were in a state of rebellion and they were afraid to put them back in the car so were leaving them at the church with I-have-no-idea-who and just they were coming back to the hotel to shower. Greg assured me that Rex did not need a bath. I knew he was wrong, but was too late to tell Greg to force Rex back into the car. So I borrowed a few things from the hotel, and drove to the church with Maurine. When I found Rex at the church, I discovered that not only had Greg not left any diapers with Rex but Rex had pooped the nastiest poop of his life. Luckily Emma's photographer had some size 3 diapers (Rex is a 5) in her car and was kind enough to change Rex for me. Grandpa Bryant then ran to the nearest pharmacy to get more diapers. When when asked where the diapers were, he was directed to aisle 5, which he noticed was labeled "incontinence" so he added "baby" to his request and was redirected to aisle 14. He said he's not going to buy any more diapers for us. Back to the story. I got to the church, found Rex, discovered that he was shirtless because he had made such a huge mess of himself at the ranch, and noticed visible dirt in his hair. I don't know why Greg thought I wouldn't notice. Rex got a bath in the sink at the church.
And then family pictures. The one thing I stressed the most about this wedding. I looked for a dress for months. Finally found a black one and hoped the Emma wouldn't mind that I wasn't wearing orange. Then I stressed about making all the little boy cousins matching ties and suspenders and spent 2 nights working on them and giving myself cankles. And then I didn't get a single picture of our family. Really? All that stress and I don't have a single picture of me in that dumb dress. I am so lame. Emma is going to send me one when she gets her wedding pictures back from her photographer.

At 7 the reception finally started.

Greg's grandma got in just in time for the reception, but Rex hadn't slept well or napped for nearly a week by this point so refused to take a picture with her.

Then Rex and Cora discovered the water and made quite the mess of that.

And then Rex and I spend more of the evening in the foyer. He was tired and hot and sick of people and just needed a break. So I sat on the couch and he showed me how he could jump and spin in circles. I was sad not to get to chat more with Greg's relatives whom I've only met one other time, but felt bad for Rex and thought he'd been such a trooper through the whole trip.

Where was Greg this whole time? Outside. Decorating the car. It was quite the master piece. One of Greg's finest I must say. The car was completely covered with clever and inappropriate phrases, which 6-year-old Bryant then read aloud to the group. Brilliant. But I didn't get a single picture of the car because Rex just does not like the dark so we had to go back inside.

All-in-all a fun, lovely reception made even better by the fact that my very tired and cranky 2-year-old demanded that we return to the hotel, so Greg had to stay and clean up. Awesome.

Like I said, Sunday we went to Sacrament and then flew home and that is the end of our vacation. Tomorrow we will return to our regularly scheduled blogs about my rants and such.

7.8.11: Friday

Have no fear friends, we are almost done with the vacation posts, which I must admit are not my favorite posts to read or write. But, nonethelss, I got some super cute pictures of Rex and his cousins that just must be shared.

Friday was the actual wedding. I've never really understood when people say this, but the sealing was beautiful. And here's what I mean by that: the sealer kept it short and sweet but shed some interesting light on the signifance of the sealing and some of its many implications, which I had never thought of before. So it was beautiful because I learned something new. Also, Emma and Travis both said yes, which was good because we'd driven an hour and half to get to the temple from our hotel in Charlotte.

Once out of the temple, I started taking pictures, but forgot to take pictures of Emma and Travis...I was distracted by how cute Rex was so I took pictures of him instead.

Picture #1: The Baker only family, which doesn't explain why Travis is in the picture. Rex, however, thought he should also be in the picture and would not be moved.

Picture #2: I did remember to get a quick shot of our adorable little family.

Picture #3: Rex and Cora discovered water in a drain and thought it was the coolest thing ever, for like five minutes.

Picture #4: Rex and Cora started getting restless and sick of waiting for the pictures to be done, so I had them engage in a little jumping contest.
Picture #5: After the jumping contest, Rex and Cora decided to explore the temple grounds, upon which they found Emma and Travis, which obviously meant that Rex needed to also be in those pictures. I think the photographer was able to artfully cut him out.
And then we got some barbecue and drove back to Charlotte. Greg and his brother went in search of Settlers of Catan (our new favorite game) and I put Rex to bed by locking him in our hotel room and looking like a crazy person sitting on the floor outside our room. But, again, with the Southern hospitality, I had several people ask me if I was ok and invite me to their room. I explained that I was waiting for my crazy 2-year-old to fall asleep before going to Allen's room and playing some settlers, and not making the tissue paper pompoms I was supposed to make for the reception the next day.

7.7.11: Thursday

I am fully aware that I am really dragging out these posts on our little trip to North Carolina, but you don't have to read this and my mom will enjoy the pictures of Rex.

Thursday we drove back to Charlotte and decided to go to Charlotte's children's library Imagine On. It's more like a hands-on children's museum than a library--it does have books. Rex loved it. We were there for about an hour, but could have stayed for hours more. If we move to Charlotte, this will probably be one of our favorite hang outs.

The exhibits were all based on conservation.

Here's Rex crawling through a car-tire tunnel at the Smart car exhibit.

Greg took some time to do some light reading.

Greg put on a puppet show for us.

Rex picked some apples to take to the farmer's market around the corner.

And then he practiced sorting recycling.

This library/museum is everything that's good about the South. While at the Provo City library Rex gets pushed around and beat up, the kids at this library waited in line, let Rex have a turn and even helped him reach things he couldn't reach--and all this without their parents forcing them. They just did it. Southern hospitality is a real thing. Maybe the South will rise again.

7.6.11: Wednesday

We spent Wednesday at the mini-golf course, which if you know us, is pretty typical. But this time was took Rex and Rex loved it. I didn't think Rex would but he putted each hole at least twice. I, on the other hand, didn't really get to putt all the holes.

I don't have much else to say about golfing so, without further ado, some pictures.

Rex and Mike playing guns

Bryant and Cora also enjoying playing

Reason #9293465483240932 why humidity sucks. This is after being outside for about 10 minutes.
Rex is a pro.

7.14.11: Day 3

I have more problems with Rex's bodily functions than I care to deal with. First I can't handle cloth diapers and now I'm done with day 3 of potty training and we've still got several to go.

Today went really well though. Rex sat on his potty fairly happily and even peed in it a few times. He started off the morning a little shakey with a few accidents on the kitchen floor, which I made him clean up and then made him practice running to the potty when he had to pee. He hated that. He loved earning stickers to get his package of M&M's, which he managed to get by lunch, which was the goal. After getting his M&M's, I made a new chart--5 successful potty pees and he earns a zebra. He really wants his zebra. So much so that he got himself out of bed during naptime, peed in the toilet, and then called me to congratulate him. I was so happy. We had done it! Peed in the potty all by himself. And he stayed dry for his nap. I saw the light at the end of the tunnel.

After nap time, he peed on me, and then on a chair before finally making it to the toilet. And then he insisted that he earned a sticker because pee ended up in potty. I gave in.

And then this.

That's right. A big ol' turd on my counter while I was making dinner. He happened to do right as Greg walked in the door. Greg thought it was hilarious and insisted that I take teh picture. But did Greg clean it up? No. I did. To be fair, I was on the phone and not paying attention to him and I knew the poop had to come eventually because he hadn't pooped for 2 days. I blame this on my mom. She called me first.

To finish the day off, Rex peed himself again. To his credit though, I think Rex was trying to sit on the potty when the accident happened--he had finally put underwear on after being naked all day and I don't think he could get them off. Maybe tomorrow will be our day.

7.3.11-7.5.11: Leg one of our trip to NC

Last week we went to North Carolina for Greg's youngest sister's wedding. Here's the first installment of many detailing our trip.

We left early Sunday morning.

Rex was perfect through two 2-hour flights and a 2-hour layover. It was almost like flying as a single person, but with a really well-behaved 2-year-old. We had to pay for Rex to fly this time, which means that we got to bring Rex's car seat on the plane, which was amazing because Rex understands car seats. He stayed in his seat with only one or two complaints for both flights. Thank you iPad. Greg downloaded some of Rex's favorite shows onto his iPad and Rex watched those nearly the entire time.

Below: Rex in the airport looking adorable. He insisted on wearing his hoodie the whole time. I finally wrestled him down when we got to Charlotte because it was about 90 degrees with 100% humity and I didn't want him to die.
We spent Sunday night at Greg's parents' in Charlotte, and then left early Monday morning for Greg's sister's house in Greensboro. The iPad was also a hit at her house as evidenced below.

Rex had way too much fun playing with his cousins. The first thing he said every morning was "Bryant, Cora". Adorable.
Monday night, after playing in the disgusting humidity all day, Rex and Cora took a bath together and, again, had way too much fun, as evidenced by the lake I had to clean up off of Maurine's bathroom floor when they were done.

I almost forgot to discuss our 4th of July festivities. Erick and Maurine put on quite the spread. We had trout (that Erick caught himself), ribs, and hot dogs in addition to a ridiculous amount to fresh vegetables from their enormous garden (the size of our back yard). While grilling, the boys also spent some time in Erick's shed making some surprises. I put Rex to bed knowing, as evidenced by previous posts, that he would not enjoy Erick's surprises. We'll just put it this way, some of our home-made fireworks looked more like mini-atomic bombs that pretty lights and a few many have shaken the neighbors windows and none of them were legal.

On Tuesday, Greg and Maurine made the 7-hour round trip drive to Columbia to go to Emma's endowment. I stayed in Greensboro with the kids. After playing inside for a while, my co-babysitter Rebecca (Emma's bride's maid) needed a break so the kids and I went for a walk to the pond down the street. Seriously, all we did was walk down to the lake and throw some rocks in before Uncle Erick came and picked us up.

Below: What the kids looked like after our very short walk (MAYBE 2 blocks) to the pond.

Because the kids were so disgusting, I asked Erick if he had a sprinkler they could run in. Typical Erick couldn't just get a sprinkler out. He built them a slip and slide. Again, way too much fun. So much fun in fact that Rex came in about thirty minutes later from fun-induced injuries. The big kids had to be threatened to come back in for dinner.

And there you have it: the first three days of our trip. Flying and playing. Way fun.

Lessons learned: iPads are worth their weight in gold when flying with a 2-year-old and humidity sucks.

7.2.11: Fireworks

I love Provo. Really. I do.

But that doesn't mean I understand every thing that Provo/BYU (let's be honest, BYU runs Provo) does.

For some reason, BYU decided to do Stadium of Fire/fireworks on the 2nd this year. So Greg decided to join the party and bought some of the newly legalized aerial fireworks. We waited until dusk (it doesn't get dark until 10 or so) to set them off. Rex and I got out the camping chairs and got ready to do.

And then Greg started the party, and Rex ran for cover. He stood at the front door begging to go inside and screaming that he doesn't like rocgots (rockets, which in this context means fireworks).
So I put Rex to bed and Greg and I went inside to pack for our trip to NC for Emma's wedding. Greg and I did make it outside to watch the bit of BYU fireworks we could see through the 2 trees on our street. So patriotic, I know.

7.13.11: Potty Training Day 2

Day 2 went much better than day 1.

We started the day off by using Barney as an incentive--wanna watch Barney, sit on the potty. It worked several times. But not pee. And then Rex stood up and danced a bit and peed on the floor. Luckily I was close enough to catch him and quickly threw Rex on the potty. Semi-success.

Then Reagan came over and threw several fits that she didn't get the same treats that Rex got--but I couldn't very well give her treats if she didn't sit/pee on the potty. So we went someone where you can pretty much pee wherever you want--7 Peaks. I still made Rex sit on the big toilet (amid tantrums) a few times while there. He did wet himself while there, but he at least knew that he had peed his pants. Semi-success.

Today I also decided to cold turkey all diaper usage, so I put the potty next to Rex's bed and let him sleep in underwear. He woke up dry. Success.

After naptime, Rex was once again sitting on the potty watching Barney, drinking soda and then--Pee! Yes. Pee-pee in the potty! Success.

Then we had to go to the grocery store, which I thought we could handle since Rex had just peed in the potty. But as Rex very meticulously picked out his bananas, he peed. All over the cart. But he cleaned it up and knew when he was peeing. Failure/semi-success (at least he knew what he was doing).

When we returned home, Rex sat on the potty again and peed--on purpose. He stood up right after he peed and told him that he had peed. Success!

And then we went the rest of the evening without an accident. Rex even sat on the potty for about 20 minutes waiting for him to poop. But he did not.

So to bed he went with underwear on, but I did convince him to wear plastic pants.

Not that they helped. I just went up to check on him. He's soaking wet, but at least he's asleep--maybe.

I think we'll get it in the next few days.

6.28.11: Backyard Fun

A few weeks ago, I had amazing plans to go to Bridal Veil Falls with one of my friends and her three kiddos. I was excited to try something new and cool and hang out with Holly. So I got the kids all ready and in the car, and got in and nothing. My car would not start. I had been experienciing this for several days, but had previously been able to jump my car and get on with my life, only slightly embarrassed. I had told Greg of my car problems, but as soon as he got in the car, it started up just fine.

Back to my story, I got in car and it wouldn't start and my battery powered charger wouldn't start my car either. Luckily Noah was napping on my couch so I woke him up and we pushed my car down the driveway (hitting and knocking over all four of our trash cans and making Rex scream bloody murder). We hook our cars together and do all we can to jump the car, but to no avail. After about 5 minutes, I give up, we push the car back up the driveway and I call Holly.

With no other plan that day, and already in our suits, I got a few hoses out and these are the results:

Reagan examining the crackers I brought out.

Reagan refuses to go down the slide, but her suit is super cute--even though I think two-pieces are kind-of silly on little girls.

Rex having way too much fun--he did go down our make-shift water slide on his stomach head first a few times, flying off the end and giving himself several bloody noses.

Rex just running around with a hose.

I do want to go to Bridal Veil Falls with Holly eventually, but we also had a good day just playing with hoses in the backyard.

And ps when Greg got home that night, he managed to get the car going--lame, but he finally believed me that something was wrong with the car. A few days later he finally had a chance to replace the battery. Luckily we live in Provo and all the most important things are within walking distance.

7.12.11: Potty Training

I know I'm going out of order as I do have some rather adorable pictures of Rex (I totally forgot to take any of me or Greg) at the wedding last week, but I'm thinking about potty training right now.

Let's just put it this way, today did not turn out like I wanted it to. Part of me was expecting today to be a failure, but I woke up and decided to give it my best go any way.

My sister-in-law has managed to potty train both of her kids on 1 day, and I borrowed her book and figured if she could do I could right? Wrong.

We're counting small successes today. By the end of the day, Rex learned how to pull his underwear up and down and he even sat on the toilet. But he has yet to pee in the toilet.

We started the day off bad. The Book said to have a potty chair, but I think potty chairs are gross so didn't buy one. I let Rex pick out a cool stool instead--Sesame Street. He loves the stool. But that's about it. He stands on the stool and holds his little do-dad and says, "Psss..." but he won't sit on the toilet. So after about an hour of trying to coax Rex onto the toilet, I have this brilliant idea to make my own potty chair. I get out one of our huge stock pots, tape rags around the edges and then tape the tiny toilet insert to the stock pot. I convinced Rex to sit on that for oh...five seconds. Two accidents later, I realize that without a suitable potty that Rex will actually sit on, all my efforts are for not. I put Rex in a diaper and start thinking of people who might have a potty chair I can borrow. My friend Holly came through for me. But before I could get over to her house, Rex had a complete melt-down and went down for a nap. Four-and-a-half hours later, Rex wakes up having soaked through his diaper. I change him, feed him, walk to the grocery store to get a few things for dinner, and then get the potty chair from Holly. Rex and I came home, cleaned it up, and low-and-behold Rex sits on the chair. But no pee. He can't sit still long enough to let the pee come out. So we start making dinner. I look at the clock. It's been 14 minutes since Rex last sat on the potty. One more minute I think. And then I hear an uh-oh. That's right, Rex peed on the table right next to where I was making dinner. So what do I do? I try to sit Rex on the potty to finish his business and then continue making dinner. It cooks out right? Whatever, you don't have to eat dinner at my house. I finished making dinner but had a Relief Society meeting to go to so Rex got to wear a diaper again because I didn't want any accidents at someone else's house. When I got home, Rex watched Sesame Street and refused to sit on the potty. He does not care for my incentives. Finally I remembered that I have popsicles, so he ate one of those while sitting on the potty. He's sleeping in a diaper tonight.

Like I said, small successes. He can pull his underwear up and down and he sat on the potty.

Did I mention that the thing that was going to make today ok didn't work out? Greg had his fourth interview with a new company that I thought would for sure hire him. Nope. They thought wearing a suit to the interview was over the top. Seriously? That's a pretty lame reason if you ask me.
