7.8.11: Friday

Have no fear friends, we are almost done with the vacation posts, which I must admit are not my favorite posts to read or write. But, nonethelss, I got some super cute pictures of Rex and his cousins that just must be shared.

Friday was the actual wedding. I've never really understood when people say this, but the sealing was beautiful. And here's what I mean by that: the sealer kept it short and sweet but shed some interesting light on the signifance of the sealing and some of its many implications, which I had never thought of before. So it was beautiful because I learned something new. Also, Emma and Travis both said yes, which was good because we'd driven an hour and half to get to the temple from our hotel in Charlotte.

Once out of the temple, I started taking pictures, but forgot to take pictures of Emma and Travis...I was distracted by how cute Rex was so I took pictures of him instead.

Picture #1: The Baker only family, which doesn't explain why Travis is in the picture. Rex, however, thought he should also be in the picture and would not be moved.

Picture #2: I did remember to get a quick shot of our adorable little family.

Picture #3: Rex and Cora discovered water in a drain and thought it was the coolest thing ever, for like five minutes.

Picture #4: Rex and Cora started getting restless and sick of waiting for the pictures to be done, so I had them engage in a little jumping contest.
Picture #5: After the jumping contest, Rex and Cora decided to explore the temple grounds, upon which they found Emma and Travis, which obviously meant that Rex needed to also be in those pictures. I think the photographer was able to artfully cut him out.
And then we got some barbecue and drove back to Charlotte. Greg and his brother went in search of Settlers of Catan (our new favorite game) and I put Rex to bed by locking him in our hotel room and looking like a crazy person sitting on the floor outside our room. But, again, with the Southern hospitality, I had several people ask me if I was ok and invite me to their room. I explained that I was waiting for my crazy 2-year-old to fall asleep before going to Allen's room and playing some settlers, and not making the tissue paper pompoms I was supposed to make for the reception the next day.
