What I really wanted to post about here was my skirt to wear to the party, which I made because my friend made this skirt, which she got from this tutorial.
I was surprised by how easy it was and how easily it came together.
Total cost $9--and this is not a refurbished skirt. I bought all new materials. I got the fabric for $1 a yard, if I got 5 yards, but I only used about 2 yards, so I have left overs. I bought a new zipper for less than $2 and even bought matching thread--which I don't usually d0--for less than $2. The trim I found in the garage, so that was free. All in all, I spent about $9, but have 3 yards of fabric left and nearly an entire spool of thread. Good deal.
And I like it to boot.
