So Many Pumpkin Patches

We outdid ourselves with pumpkin patches this year.  And I still have two more to go to--the older 2 kids each have a field trip to our usual pumpkin patch this week.

The little kids and I went with the playgroup to the closest (and free) pumpkin patch.  It is also the prettiest--lots of perfectly manicured picture stations.  Also the most expensive--$17 for an average-sized pumpkin--and not a ton to do besides look at a few animals and take pictures.  The kids amused themselves with the wagons.  Not my favorite but it's close and free.

Henry and his bestie Penny

Uncle Noah came for a brief visit so we went to Riverbend Farm, our favorite--also the one I get to go to twice more this week.  We buy our pumpkins here--they're $0.40 a pound, fresh off the vine and you get to ride a tractor to the field.  They also have some animals and huge silo slides.  We can stay here for hours playing.  It's $5.50 a person so get in but for two or three hours of play, totally worth it.

I also got in my head that we should do a corn maze this year.  It wasn't as fun as I thought it would be--we got lost, tired, board and the baby fell asleep in the pouch but still it was fun.  After, we played in their corn pit and had to pay to do everything else--like milk the fake cow, $1, ride some tricycles around a few barrels, $1.  This is in addition to paying $8 per person to do the corn maze.  I was not amused (with their pricing, I mean we had a fun morning but we won't be going back).

I think we met our October fall fun quota.
