Every so often I like to document the little things in life so that when my kids are parents and continue to whine about everything, I can remind them of the pain and suffering they put me through (don't you wish you'd kept a better journal now, Mom?)
Little thing as of late:
Sleep.
Bedtime starts after dinner at our house, which is around 6:30. I've been trying harder to get the dishes done right after dinner. Around 7, I have the kids clean their rooms, which shouldn't be dirty because we don't keep toys in bedrooms, clean up the toys and put their PJs on. This job that takes me, by myself 20 minutes to do, can take them up to an hour.
At 7:30, I put Zora to bed. She's down to just one nap a day, usually only for 2 hours and so is struggling with life by 7:15. Then I read to the older 3 and they get in bed.
I tuck Rex in, who still falls asleep in our bed because Zora is such a light sleeper and he likes to read for hours at night.
Then I sit, like I am doing now, on the foot of Henry's bed waiting for him or Alice or both of them to fall asleep.
I used to just let them play, but then they were up until 11 one night and I'd had enough. Plus Henry was cranky cranky cranky because he wasn't getting enough sleep. So now I sit here, update my blog and look up stuff on the computer while I wait for one of them to fall asleep. It's been 30 minutes so far tonight and they are both still going strong, clicking tongues and singing themselves songs.
