Things I love: This Outfit

I'm going to try my hand at a bit of fashion blogging here.

I've heard a lot about remixing outfits and using the same pieces for multiple outfits.  A good piece of clothing can be used for multiple outfits.  It's genius--buy fewer pieces and each piece is more useful but you aren't wearing the same thing every day.  Alice has recently discovered the wonders of remixing her clothes and taken it to the extreme.   She's quite the fashionista.

In the feature outfit below, Alice picks up on the current trend of mixing strips with floral print.  Notice that she takes this tend a bit further by not in anyway coordinating her colors.  Next, she decided to remix the use of one of Rex's shirt by turning it into a maxi skirt.  The sleeves add a bit of flare and interest.  They also add to her lady sway.  Lastly the shoes.  Alice is wearing her vintage Mary Jane's.  Notice the lack of stockings or socks--this gives a traditionally winter shoe a bit of summer flare, while still saying, I know that technically it's still spring and it's not quite Memorial Day yet.

I would like it noted that Alice put this outfit together entirely on her own.  While I put her shirt on, she picked it out and she put on her skirt and brought me her shoes for buckling. I think we have a lot to look forward to in the fashion world as the Alice style catches on.

Rex also picked out his own outfit and dressed himself.  He insisted that he dark blue shorts are black, which matches the gray emblem on his shirt--he's trying to stick with a more traditional style, but is apparently color blind.
Also Taya.  I love Taya.

  1. Yesss, this is a perfectly optimistic post. That Alice kills me, she is kindof a little ball of personality. And you can never tell Rex he is wrong, he will never agree with you.

  2. Considering I wear "formal" pajamas 80% of the time, I'd say your kids are doing pretty well since they at least change into outer wear :). And I still can't get over that skirt.....pure awesomeness. That trend might catch on.
