I hate March. I have decided after much deliberation that it is officially the worse month ever, and not just because Amber's birthday is in March and literally took up the entire month when we were little and got maybe an hour a few days after my birthday for celebration. No, I hate March because it's so confused. Technically March is still winter. But on all the calendars, especially ones used for preschools, March is decorated with flowers and green leaves and all other things indicating spring and warmth. But no, it's still cold. And I know I observe with great frequency that North Carolina isn't cold, because it really isn't. But by March I don't want not really cold, I want warm. And when it comes down to it, cold is cold. I don't care if it's 40 degrees or 20, I'm probably not going to go outside anyway, so I have to deal with the temperature of the house, which we have already discussed is below most people's standards--save Emma. Don't get me wrong, some days in March are warm. Just warm enough to make me think--oh I'll put off cleaning out the kids' drawers now because I'll need to get their summer clothes out any day. And then it rains. Or is just plain cold and I should just organized their drawers because now it's been a month of me thinking about it and not doing it because any day now I'll need to get out the summer clothes so I'll save my energy for that. And my hatred of March does not just apply to North Carolina, it also applies to Utah and is a subset of my absolute hatred of spring, which is the worst season. March and spring everywhere are terrible.
I do make the kids play outside though, because I am sick of being inside. My kids are obviously super happy about being outside.
I have no idea what you are talking about. March has the best weather ever. Maybe you should move to so cal.
ReplyDeleteYeah, March is pretty much bipolar. And don't worry- I have finally started Alice's scarf. She may have to use it several times in April :). Or she can just wear it inside your 50 degree house while it's 78 degrees outside. I do that a lot.
ReplyDeleteWhat's with that swing? It's like the "sadness swing". It's looks like they are having an OK time except for the swing.
ReplyDeleteAlright Mrs Pessimist, now I want a blog post on things you LOVE! Like me, and craft day ;)
ReplyDeleteUm, did you forget that the best person you know was born in March? Stop drinking that Haterade and feel the March love!
