Sleeping

When Rex was little I made regular blog posts about his night time adventures I called them--really just the insane number of times he woke up every night.

Here's an update on our sleeping situation.

Technically Rex and Zora share a room, and Alice and Henry share a room, and Greg and I share the third room.  But here's how it really works:

Zora is typically the first to bed.  She requires about 20 minutes of bottle drinking and rocking to fall asleep.  She likes to drink her bottle nice and slow.

Rex reads for 2 hours every night after I tuck him in, in our bed because Zora is a very sensitive sleeper and despite his near silence, Zora knows he's there and refuses to sleep with his reading lamp on.

Alice and Henry like to play in their room for hours.  Usually two or three.  I find it amazing that they can't entertain themselves for 15 minutes during the day, but turn the light off, and all of a sudden they have mountains of things to do.

I try to go to bed around 11.  I move Rex to his bed and get in mine.  Greg usually joins me sometimes later, but will occasionally sleep on the couch if he's too hot or I'm taking up too much of the bed.

And that's it.  My kids take forever to fall asleep, but once they're asleep, they stay that way.  Even Zora.  It's rather nice.

Alice and Henry often fall asleep in the same bed after hours of playing.
