Pumpkins

We're stepping back in time for this one, but I cheated and just really wanted to blog about our awesome trip to the mountains that is becoming like the perfect dream.  Anyway, before we went to the mountains, we made our annual trip to Riverbend Farm, and it of course did not dissappoint.  This year it was made even better by running into a friend from the ward--the Fillerups.  Alice was thrilled to have a friend to play with.  I was thrilled to have someone for Alice to play with.  Rex found several friends, as usual.  And Henry just ate because, well, he's Henry.  He also went down the slide a few times, which was only fun if he was on Mom or Dad's lap.

After our mountain trip, we carved our pumpkins.  Alice and Rex each carved their own-ish.  Greg and Henry worked together, until Henry got bored and then Greg finished on his own.  Then while cleaning up, Greg got a phone call.  Apparently some new laws or ordinanes or something were passed regarding drones and the local news station wanted to hear from a drone-enthusiast so they called up Greg, leader of the local drone meet-up.  Oh fun.  Pumpkin guts all over my kitchen, excited kids running around also covered in pumpkin and here's a news reporter trying to get a good shot of Greg without looking like a Gothic castle in the background  Luckily, my mother-in-law had come over to carve pumpkins with us so she helped get the kitchen clean enough for the reporter while I wrangled the two little ones into bed.  Rex really wanted to watch so he was very good and sat silently on the floor in the kitchen while the reporter interviewed Greg.  It was on the 10 o'clock news that night.  And Greg sounded good.  Drones are fun but should be regulated in a simple and easy way to promote public safety and continue to allow people like him to enjoy flying drones.  Greg the not-so-politcal politican.  So there youhave it--pumpkins picked and carved.
