I had to dig deep this time. To be fair, my parents say they'd be just as happy staying home and playing with the grandkids, but we all know that I can't handle that. I'm not a huge fan of being home.
So after Halloween, we had church on Sunday. Monday it rained all day so we did Pajama School, for which Alice was completely poorly behaved and got sent to her room twice. We eventually went to Target just to get out/get light bulbs. Woot woot.
Tuesday, my dad had an early afternoon flight back to Barcelona so we went to Uptown. Alice really wanted to go to the library there so we hit that up. And we picked a good day. They were having a dinosaur exhibit that day so the kids got to ride around dinosaurs, of which I took no pictures. Then we met Greg for lunch, which was very tasty, and lastly we did part of the Liberty Walk we attempted to do on Christmas Eve with Amber a few years back. We had to keep at a run to keep Henry from getting out of the stroller, but I think my dad liked it. He likes doing stuff where there are lots of plaques to read. Then we took Dad to the airport and came home for naps. Woot woot.
Wednesday, we went to Old Salem, which was cool. For Greg and Rex. It was beautiful and I wished we'd worn matching clothes and brought our good camera, but there was too much "no touching" for Henry and Alice so Mom, I and the little ones played outside while Greg and Rex crawled through all the houses/stores/shops/workshops, etc. It was akin to a very expensive, not-too child friendly Nauvoo.

| Just behind us on the other side of the bridge was a group of fabulous yellow trees. It was going to be a beautiful picture, but the bridge curved just right and cut out the trees. |
Then Greg's truck broke down on the way home and Alice had to pee and I took the wrong off ramp on the way home. So we ordered pizza as we drove expecting it to be at the house as soon as we got there. The pizza place forgot us twice. We got the pizza for free, but I was so hungry, we probably should have gotten two.
Thursday we took Mom to the airport and then came home and put PJ pants back on. The thing about having visitors is that I can't pull my "I just got back from the gym" stuff that I usually pull and I had to wear jeans every day. Jeans are Satan's creation.
Despite having less than stellar activities and having to wear jeans, I think it was worth my parents' money for the flight out.
