5.4.11: Hey Mom, look what I made

Have I mentioned how much I love blogs? Honestly, I love them so much I read my own when no one else updates theirs. Also, you would read your own if you were as witty and charming and had as cute of a kid as I do. But that's not actually why I love blogs. I love blogs because people that I don't even know put so much information on their blogs and let me read it and don't charge me anything AND save me a ton of money.

For example, today I made two pairs of maternity shorts for myself.

I know right.

I had a couple pairs of well-loved jeans that I was going to turn into shorts anyway--easy enough. And then I remembered Juno and how her step-mom turned her normal jeans into maternity pants and thought to myself, why couldn't I do that? Well, because I don't know how. But, oh, the people of the blog-o-sphere do. I googled it and got at least four different versions of how to turn normal pants into maternity pants.

Because there are like a million blogs out there already detailing jeans-->maternity pants, I won't give you the details, but essentially all I did was cut the pants to desired short length, cut the waist off the jeans, cut the top off an old stretchy t-shirt, added some elastic and va-la, new shorts. Total cost for 2 pairs: $2.36 + 2 hours.

I'm not in maternity clothes yet, so I kind of had to guess with these. Hopefully they'll still fit once I get fat, but it's not a big loss if they don't, and I'm sure the blog-o-sphere will have an answer for that too.

Here's a few pictures to prove my point.

1. completed maternity shorts.

2. Fuzzy picture of me wearing said shorts--I'm not photogentic to begin with, add taking picture of myself...bound for failure.

3. I tucked my shirt in on purpose so you could see the once-t-shirt band on the shorts.

4. Another full view of said shorts.
The end.

  2. WOW!! I wouldn't have thought to use a t-shirt for the top. Very Cool! I also love the tucked-in look!
