Tuesday was Cow Appreciation Day at Chick-Fil-A. My sister has gone for years, but my hatred of fast food, even free fast food, even free Chick-Fil-A fast food, has kept me away for years. But this year, we went. We decided to go for lunch. Greg opted out of going.
The good:
*the kids had a great time dressing up. Rex made his and Henry cow ears. They were sooo excited and thought their little outfits were super cute.
*we got free food. And not just any free food, whatever we wanted. Each kid got a kids' meal and I got a chicken salad sandwich meal.
*we even got balloon animals.
The bad:
*we went for lunch but it was CROWDED. There was even a daycare there. I don't meant to sound rude or insentive when I say the following rude and insensitive thing, but I really don't like daycare and generally avoid parks/libraries/pools or any other location that daycares go. One daycare is six or more kids per one adult. It's just too much for me.
*we also had to eat outside because it was so crowded. Eating outside wasn't the worst thing, in fact I really like eating outside. I'm sharing this to illustrate how crowded it was.
*after eating the kids wanted to play, but then Henry and Alice both just stuck at the top of the play structure so I had to climb up to get them. Also there was a baby in there who had pooped a very nasty poop and her mom wasn't taking her out. I almost leaned over and told the mom her baby was poopy. Eventually the daycare provider said something and the mom took the uber stinky baby out.
*lastly, there were balloon animals. I know I already said this. The kids loved it. But we had to wait in line for a long time and then, like all balloons, they popped. It wasn't until the next day, but many tears were still shed. I hate balloons.
Overall, maybe we'll go next year, maybe we won't. We'll see how I feel next July 14.

Your kids keep getting more adorable. We don't have chic-fil-a in WA, so I'll have to plan on being somewhere next year where they have it so I can humiliate myself dressing like a cow and doing free advertising so I can get a free meal. Good job on getting free stuff, I taught you well.
