My kiddos

Friday was a stay home day for us.  I decided to do an activity that both kids would enjoy.  Pudding.  I had no idea how much it would reveal about the kids.

Rex.  Is smart.  careful. cautious.  He doesn't like to get dirty.  He likes to be told how to play.  He likes to mimic.  He wants to be a little adult.  He watched his pudding for a while until I started playing with mine.  But I only used one finger.  So Rex only used one finger.  He is my little buddy.  We just see eye-to-eye.  We get each other.  He loves to cuddle and drink chocolate milk.  If I were a boy, I'd be Rex.

And then there's Alice.  She was also a bit hesitant with the pudding, but I think that's because it was still hot (we made it ourselves).  But then she dug right in.  She squished it around in her hand for a while.  Then just ate it.  Right off her palm.  Alice knows what she wants and she'll have it.  She wants pudding--hand over hand into her mouth.  She wants a toy on the floor: head dive.  She will not be left out or left alone--though she refuses to crawl.  She will walk.  Greg did catch her army crawling a bit today, but mostly she just want my fingers to walk around.  She loves company.  She loves moving around.  She is social and dramatic.  And she loves Rex.  He can make her laugh like no one else.  Alice is my sounding board.  She doesn't need to be an adult yet, just a toddler.  Just like Rex.  She's content to just listen without having to understand everything I say (Rex).  Other than that Alice and I are still getting to know each other.  But she is a happy baby.
