A few weeks ago I entered a give-away on my friend's blog for a free Baby Signing Time DVD. And I was certain I would win because we're friends.
Now normally I don't allow Rex to watch TV (except Conference, of course), but I did allow some YouTubing of Signing Time in preparation for our big win. Also, I am a little sick of not being able to communicate with him. He still doesn't say many words and the words he does say all sound the same. I've heard that learning sign not only allows babies to communicate earlier through sign but also improves their verbal communication skills later.
And so we watched a few Signing Time clips a few days ago.
Rex is in love.
He brings me Greg's laptop to play Caterpillar Dreams for him (that's the only one he likes), or he escapes downstairs and I find him sitting at the computer waiting for me. I finally give in and tell him he can watch it once, but he also figured out how to make the video replay, over and over and over again. And the song makes Greg nauseous, I got to make dinner without stepping on any little toes, or having a few extra ingredients added.
